Third Session: January 3, 2005
Third Session will begin Monday, January 3rd. We
hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish you
all a happy, healthy and peace filled New Year.
Schedule Change
Previously a change in schedule was discussed
for the Friday jazz classes. Beginning January
7th, the level 4 jazz class and level 1, 2nd
year jazz class times will be switched. So, jazz
1, 2nd year will take place from 4:00-5:00 and
level 4 jazz class will be from 5-6:30. We
appreciate your cooperation in this matter. The
schedule change works better for the majority of
students.
Weather Situations
In case of inclement weather, the studio will
always close if Munster schools are closed. If
there is a question, ALWAYS call the studio. If
we are closed, there will be voicemail
indicating all closings. Classes may always be
made up at your convenience even if it means
making up in a different session.
Celebration of Dance 2005: Costumes
CELEBRATION 2005 will be held on Friday, June
17th, 2005 at Munster High School.
Mark Your Calendars Now
Costume deposits were DUE the week of DECEMBER
15th. We thank those of you who have been prompt
with this payment. If you have not yet made your
deposit, please do so as costumes need to be
ordered by the end of January for timely
delivery. The deposits are $50.00 per part in
the Celebration. Also, please look for index
cards located by the bulletin board and write
down your children’s leotard and dress size.
Remember that child costumes typically come
extra small (4-6) small (6-8) medium (10-12) and
large (12-14). Sometimes there is extra large or
petite adult but then the sizes jump to adult
sizes. The Dance Gallery is not responsible for
any alterations which may need to be made.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Times
We have had several incidences of children being
left for over 10 minutes after class has ended
or not being picked up at all. While there are
other classes going on this is not a problem for
teachers even though the child gets upset. Many
times it is after the last class has ended.
While we understand that sometimes these thing
happen, please remember that the Dance Gallery
Faculty has family and other obligations as
well. We would appreciate your prompt timing in
picking up you children. Also, please be sure
that a faculty member is present before dropping
off your children. Remember that promptness is
good for your child and for the class in general
Child Life Program
Thank you to all of you who participated in the
donations to the University of Chicago
Children’s Hospital Child Life Program. With
your help we raised over $400.00.
Little Extra Fun Things
Many students participated in a two day long
seminar where they danced for six hours each
day! The faculty consisted of our own Nick
Pupillo,
Lizzie Mac Kenzie, formerly of Gus Giordano
dance company,
Laura Wade instructor at Lou Conte and
ballet mistress for River North dance company,
and
Claire Bataille, former Hubbard Street dance
member and Pilates instructor. The classes
consisted of ballet, jazz, modern and Pilates.
You can find any of these teachers profiles in
the internet.
DANCE in Love
DANCE IN LOVE is preparing for their annual trip
to Indianapolis for Dance Revolution. They will
dance, worship and perform with other Christian
dancers and nationally recognized instructors
for two days. We will be performing two dance
